Description
Close-up of the flower head of the ox-eye daisy, Leucanthemum vulgare (or Chrysanthemum leucanthemum), seen from below. The bracts (green, at center) enclosed the tiny flowers, or florets, of the flower head when they were in the bud. Here the sterile white ray florets can be seen. The ox-eye daisy is a medium sized perennial plant which grows in grassy places and flowers between May and September. (4th of 5 images).
