Bacteria in deer feces found in a suburban garden after a documented visit of the deer. This micrograph shows the surface of the feces fixed in a glutaraldehyde solution. The undulating intestinal bacteria resemble Campylobacter jejuni. It is no wonder that contamination of field lettuce and spinach with deer feces has made these leafy vegetables unfit for human consumption. SEM. Image width 16 micrometers.
