Computerized clothing. Fashion models wear computerized "smart clothes". The Red Roadster (left) outfit has a solar panel in the hat which powers a mobile telephone. The chest brooch contains a navigational device, whilst the knee pads can be lit to provide illumination when walking. The Nex outfit can receive navigational information & electronic mail (e-mail). This information is played through earphones or projected onto the glass of the spectacles. Such "smart clothes" can continuously cater for a user's needs, and may soon be used widely. The outfit was a collaboration between researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, & fashion designers.
