Description
The gray flesh fly (Sarcophaga carnaria) pollinates a Marguerite daisy plant. This fly, closely related to the blue-bottle fly, gathers nectar from the center of this daisy after having visited another daisy flower. Pollen grains caught on the body and proboscis mouthpart of the fly are transferred from flower to flower as it feeds. The red compound eyes of Sarcophaga are clearly seen.
