Artist's Description

Color enhancement of one of the greatest medical men of the 18th century, Giovanni Battista Morgagni. He demolished the ancient humoral theory of disease through the publication of his "On the Sites and Causes of Diseases" (1761) which proved that pathologic anatomical changes in the internal organs were responsible for the symptoms of diseases.
