Description
Close-up of the flower head of a field scabious or gypsy rose, Knautia arvensis. The flower head is formed from many small flowers called florets. The pollen-producing parts of the flower, the anthers, are on stalk-like filaments. The gypsy rose is a medium tall perennial plant which grows in dry grassy places and corn fields, and flowers between June and October. (3rd of 4 images).
