Article from the Richmond Times-Dispatch, 11 July 1915, about a woman known as Mrs. X who baked a dish of spaghetti for a church dinner in Hanford, California. She was an asymptomatic carrier of typhoid fever and the dish infected 93 people, three of whom died. Before Mrs. X, "Typhoid Mary" or Mary Mallon, was the first known asymptomatic carrier of typhus in the US.
