A watercolor by Owen Stanley of the HMS Beagle at a harbor in Sydney, Australia. The HMS Beagle was a Royal Navy ship that was adapted as a survey vessel and took part in three expeditions. Charles Darwin was on board during the second expedition, which lasted from 27 December 1831 to 2 October 1836.
