Bubble chamber event a rare decay of a lambda into a negative muon, a proton, and a neutrino is photographed in the 72 inch Hydrogen Bubble Chamber, May 1962. A bubble chamber is a vessel filled with a superheated transparent liquid (most often liquid hydrogen) used to detect electrically charged particles moving through it.
