Product Details

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

Artist's Description

Limescale. Limescale build-up inside of an old hot-water valve that had been used in household plumbing for many years. Limescale is a hard deposit that consists mainly of calcium carbonate (CaCO3), but also includes other carbonates, depending on minerals present in the water. The pale green color seen in this photograph is due to copper compounds (basic copper carbonate, Cu2CO3(OH)2), etc) that have been formed on the surface of the valve made from brass (an alloy of copper and zinc). Limescale builds up on inner surfaces of hot-water pipes, kettles, and boilers, especially when they are used with hard water.
