On August 1, 2019, Expedition 60 Flight Engineer Luca Parmitano of the European Space Agency (ESA) is shown seated inside ESA's Columbus laboratory module. Parmitano wears virtual reality goggles in order to explore how microgravity affects an astronaut's ability to grip and manipulate objects. The ESA GRIP study may inform the design of future spacecraft control devices and space system interfaces.
