Description
Molecular model of Bexarotene (Targretin), an oral antineoplastic medicine used to treat cutaneous T cell lymphoma, lung cancer, breast cancer, and Kaposi's sarcoma. In 2012, bexarotene was found to reduce amyloid plaque and to improve mental functioning in a small group of mice induced to exhibit Alzheimer's-like symptoms. A year later, however, the results could not be reproduced. Reduction in amyloid plaques was not found, but soluble forms of beta-amyloid were reduced. Formula C24 H28 O2; Molecular mass 348.478 g/mol; Carbon gray; Hydrogen yellow; Oxygen red.
