The Crisis has been in continuous print since 1910, and it is the oldest black oriented magazine in the world. William Edward Burghardt (W.E.B.) Du Bois (February 23, 1868 - August 27, 1963) was an African-American sociologist, historian, civil rights activist, Pan-Africanist, author and editor. Racism was the main target of his polemics.
