Entitled; "Cattleya mastersoniae" taken from "Orchid album comprising colored figures and descriptions of new, rare and beautiful orchidaceous plants" by B. S. Williams, 1891 edition. Benjamin Samuel Williams (March 2, 1822 - June 24, 1890) was an English orchidologist and nurseryman in London, known mainly for his horticultural notes on orchids in publications such as The Orchid Grower's Manual (London 1871), Select Orchidaceous Plants (London 1862 onwards) and The Orchid Album (London 1882-97). Cattleya is a genus of 113 species of orchids from Costa Rica and the Lesser Antilles south to Argentina. Orchidaceae is a diverse and widespread family of flowering plants with blooms that are often colorful and often fragrant, commonly known as the orchid family.
