Description
Phantom Ship is a small island in Crater Lake in the U.S. state of Oregon. It is a natural rock pillar. It derives its name due to its resemblance to a phantom ghost ship, especially under foggy and low-light conditions.Crater Lake National Park, in Oregon. A crater lake forms in a volcanic crater or a caldera. Crater Lake in Oregon is the deepest lake in the United States at 1,949 ft. Fed by rain and snow, it is one of the clearest lakes in the world. It was created after Mount Mazama, a large stratovolcano, erupted violently 7,700 years ago, forming the caldera which now contains Crater Lake.
