Description
Physiological monitoring in sleep research a composite image of video stills of a subject experiencing rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, with corresponding sensor data plotted below. The change in position of the subject is reflected by a disturbance in output from the various sensors in use. An electroencephalograph (EEG) records electrical activity over different parts of the brain. Other sensors are used to detect muscle movement around the eye and to record the degree of tension in the muscles under the chin.
