Description
An elderly man uses a black rubber plunger to unclog a clogged kitchen drain. He pushes the plunger down to generate pressure in the pipe and then pulls the plunger up to alternate pressure and suction in the drain. This should dislodge the plugging stuff and open the clogged drain. The plunger restores its shape when not pushed down by force. The clogging material contains large quantities of bacteria. Interestingly, specific "drain unclogging bacteria" may be used as an alternative procedure. Another alternative is a strong alkaline solution which would dissolve the clogging slime.
