Description
The Pyramid of the Moon is the second highest pyramid in the Teotihuacan complex. It was built around 200 AD. Within the context of the archaeological site complex of Teotihuacan it stands at the end of the Avenue of the Dead. Teotihuacan is located about 30 miles northeast of Mexico City. Teotihuacan, is an archaeologically significant site not only for it's pyramids, but for is's complex multi-family residential compounds, the Avenue of the Dead, and it's vibrant murals. The Aztecs found the city abandoned, and named the pyramid.
