Description
Siphonophores are a colony of organisms all living as a unit. Individuals are called zooids. Some zooids form the swimming structures (nectophores) at the top of the animal. Some zooids form the tentacles for food capture, others specialize in digestion. This individual was trawled up in the Gulf of Mexico, 2015.
