Artist's Description

Subatomic particle event. Photograph taken November 1957. Bubble Chamber-380. In the physical sciences, subatomic particles are particles much smaller than atoms. A bubble chamber is a vessel filled with a superheated transparent liquid (most often liquid hydrogen) used to detect electrically charged particles moving through it.
