Description
Surface of meltblown fibers from a FFP or surgical mask with some pollen grains for size comparison. A surgical mask, also known as a face mask, is intended to be worn by health professionals during healthcare procedures. Depending on the count of spunbond layers the masks filter out bacteria shed in liquid droplets and aerosols or are able to protect the wearer from breathing in airborne bacteria or viruses whose particles are much smaller. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the population was advised to wear these or similar masks when coming into contact with other people.
