Description
The Black River in North Carolina, home to the oldest trees east of the Mississippi. Some of the Black River bald cypresses are as old as 1700 years. Since these trees were discovered, the North Carolina Nature Conservancy has worked to ensure their protection. The Conservancy has ensured the preservation of more than 200 acres of land along the Black River.
