The Hot Five. The Hot Five was a band consisting of the trumpet clarinet and trombone with a rhythm section. Found by Louis Armstrong in 1925, its four other members include John Saint Cyr (1890 - 1966), Johnny Dodds (1892 - 1940), Kid Ory (1925 - 1927) and Lil Hardin Armstrong (1898 - 1971).
