Color enhanced scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of the vascular system of the epididymis, the organ which accumulates and stores sperm. The bulk of the epididymis consists of a coiled ducts. The lumens (spaces) of the ducts contain masses of spermatozoa. The epithelium itself consists of a layer of columnar cells with elongated nuclei overlying a layer of rounded basal cells.
