Description
Light micrograph of whitefish cells in telophase stage of mitosis. Two identical collections of chromosomes are at opposite ends of the spindle, which begins to break down. They will form the two nuclei of the two new daughter cells as a nuclear envelope re-forms around each group of chromosomes. This process of mitosis refers only to the division of the nucleus. It is followed by cytokinesis, the division of the rest of the cell.
