Artist's Description

Wild and white-eosin eyes in Drosophila. Many genes can affect Drosophila sp. eye pigments. Some of these cause the absence of the normal brown pigment and appear bright red (e.g. vermillion); others lack the bright red pigment and appeared ruby or brown, while others may lack both pigments and are devoid of color (e.g. white).
