Description
Bob's Robber Frog (Craugastor punctoriolus) has suffered tremendous population crashes in its native Panama. The declines have come in the wake of the amphibian communicable disease caused by chytrid fungus, chytridiomycosis. The species was found in tropical forests from 400 to 1700 meters elevation. It is unclear where populations still exist, if any, in the wild. This species has proven difficult to successfully breed in captivity. This frog was photographed in 2008 in the Atlanta Botanical Garden's amphibian conservation laboratory.
