Description

Color enhanced scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of a microfilter membrane. Millipore filter membranes are available in different pore sizes. They are suitable for the preparation of laboratory samples (biologically or chemically) but are also used in water treatment and dialysis (artificial kidney). This membrane has a permeability for particles less than 220nm in diameter and consists of cellulose acetate. Magnification 6001 (at 15x12 cm image size).
