Description
Adult male immune system anterior view illustration. The immune system is a series of complex and inter-related biological processes within the body that protect it against disease. It is a system that involves various organs and structures of the body as shown here; the tonsils and adenoids, the thymus, the spleen, lymph nodes and lymphatic vessels, peyer's patch on the small intestine, the large intestine and appendix, bone marrow, etc. Generally speaking these systems and structures are concerned with the growth, development, and deployment of lymphocytes or white cells that are main agents of the immune system. There are two major types of lymphocytes, B cells and T cells. These cells complete their maturation in the bone marrow.
