Description
In China bamboo was used in making aqueducts for conveying water to the land. Hong Kong, officially known as Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, is a city on the southern coast of China at the Pearl River Estuary and the South China Sea. Entitled "Die bambus wasserleitung bei Hong-Kong." Image taken from page 457 of China, historisch romantisch, malerisch (historically romantic, picturesque). A translation by Thomas Allom with historical and descriptive notes by the Rev. G. N. Wright, published 1843.
