Illustration of Hawkins' studio in Sydenham, where he made the Crystal Palace Dinosaurs. Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins (February 8, 1807 - January 27, 1894) was an English Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins (1807 - 1894) was an English sculptor and natural history artist. Working with Joseph Leidy, he designed and cast the world's first mounted dinosaur skeleton of Hadrosaurus foulkii which was displayed at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. He did dinosaur skeleton reconstruction working at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, at Princeton University, New Jersey, and at the Centennial Exhibition of 1876 in Philadelphia.
