Description
Transparent female torso showing kidneys and suprarenal glands, brain and pituitary gland. Lightening from brain to inset of enlarged pituitary gland shows stimulation of cells in hypothalamus that secrete corticotropin releasing hormone which travels to anterior pituitary which secretes ACTH. An arrow indicates ACTH's travel to suprarenal gland via blood stream. Other arrows from suprarenal gland show release of cortisol or adrenalin to body and back to hypothalamus to shut down stimulation of cycle.
