Nighttime view of the countdown clock at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, FL.. The clock is showing the countdown at 10 hours 52 minutes prior to the first test flight of the Orion space capsule on December 5, 2014 (Exploration Flight Test 1). The un-crewed capsule was launched atop a Delta IV Heavy rocket from Space Launch Complex 37B at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The flight lasted 4 hours 24 minutes for a total of two orbits before splashing down off the coast of California. The Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) is seen in the background. The VAB is the largest single-story building in the world.
