Description
Coal Fossil - Eremopteris, a small and rare seed "fern" that grew to about two feet tall during the Carboniferous Period, Pennsylvanian Epoch, some 300 million years ago. It had highly lacerated, relatively small leaves. Speciment courtesy of Pennsylvania State Museum, Klose Coal Fossil Collection.
