Description
This 3-part series shows insulin (2 brown molecules) binding to the insulin receptor (purple), which allows glucose (blue/grey molecule) to pass through the protein channel (green structure) and move into the cell (the cell membrane is represented by the horizontal structure). Once glucose is able to pass into the cell, the body can start converting it into energy.
