Scanning Electron Micrograph (SEM) of Hibiscus stamen and pollen. In an open stamen of hibiscus flower, a few pollen grains can be seen. Hibiscus pollen grains are prickly and have a layer of sticky mucus that aids pollination by sticking to insects. Hibiscus is widespread, especially in warmer climates, and is often used as an ornamental plant. Magnification 471 (with image size 12x12 cm)
