Description
The Hidden Bristlemouth (Cyclothone obscura) is a mesopelagic fish found throughout the major oceans of the world. The species is most commonly encountered from 2000 to 2600m depth. This specimen was collected by an ROV from 2000m depth in the Gulf of Mexico, in July 2019. Because this specimen was collected by an ROV, it is not damaged – normally this species is damaged when it comes up intrawling nets. Thi is a mont condition specimen.
