Description
3-D visualization using scanned human data of an ischemic stroke within the brain. An ischemic stroke is caused by a blood clot that blocks the flow of blood to the brain. In the case shown, a piece of plaque called an embolus (highlighted) moves throughout the artery and will get lodged, blocking blood flow and causing the stroke.
