Description
The Yellow-flecked Glassfrog, Sachatamia albomaculata, (formerly Cochranella albomaculata and Centrolenella albomaculata), is a glass frog ranging through lower Central America. It is a member of the family Centrolenidae. inhabits tropical wet forests through Central America to Colombia. Males call to females above flowing water. Females prepared to breed go to calling males and a clutch of eggs is deposited on leaves above the water. Frogs of this family typically have translucent ventral surfaces through which the beating heart and all viscera can easily be observed. Males guard the clutch from smaller potential predators. This species has green bones.
