Description
CHO cells. Color enhanced scanning electron microscope (SEM) images of Chinese hamster ovary cells. These cells are grown in cell cultures where they divide about once every 24 hours. CHO cells were introduced in the early 1960s as a viable epithelial cell for use in research. Nowadays, the CHO cell line is one of the cell lines most commonly used in the biotechnological production of substances such as therapeutic antibodies. Magnification is 2300x when printed at 10 cm wide.
