Description
CT scan images from a 73 year old male who suffered a large hemorrhagic stroke of the right temporoparietal region of the brain. There is considerable mass effect with an accompanying midline shift towards the left of approximately 2.5 cm. The areas of hemorrhage are shown in blue and the ventricles, (shifted to the left), are shown in dark red-orange. The patient had a history of hypertension and died as a result of this stroke. In each of the 16 slices, the front of the head is at the top. The white areas are the bone of the skull.
