A diagram of the Central Station of the Titanic and Olympic, of the White Star Line, 1911. The main component of the electrical machinery was four 400-kilowatt engines and dynamos. It powered everything from deck cranes, winches, elevators, ventilating fans, sluice valves, machine tools, conveyors, even potato peelers in the kitchen, etc.
