Description
Memphis Belle is the nickname of a Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress during WWII that inspired the making of two motion pictures. The aircraft was one of the first B-17 US Army Air Forces heavy bombers to complete 25 combat missions with her crew intact. The B-17 was primarily employed by the USAAF in the daylight precision strategic bombing campaign of WWII against German industrial and military targets.
